Gregory H. “Greg” Banzhaf, age 73, of Williamsport, passed away peacefully at home, on May 5, 2023, after a year-long battle with brain cancer. Surviving is his loving and devoted wife of 50 years, Donna M. (Danison) Banzhaf.
Born November 16, 1949 in Williamsport, he was a son of the late Howard P. and Shirley L. (Bower) Banzhaf.
Greg was a 1967 graduate of the Williamsport Area High School and later graduated from Pennsylvania College of Technology with a degree in Architecture. He retired from PennDOT as a highway draftsman designer.
Greg was a member of St. Paul Calvary United Methodist Church. He was passionate about photography and was a member of the Shutterbugs. He enjoyed hunting and was a life member of the Goodwill Hunting Club. Greg took many trips to Canada fishing, liked following and tracking the weather and was a NASCAR fan. Greg was a member of the Masonic Lodge.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are a brother Keith A. Banzhaf (Elizabeth); niece Erika Heeman (Chris); nephew Brandon Boughton (Alyssa Watson), brother-in-law Gary Danison; sister-in-law Mary Weidler and niece Brittany Weidler, all of Williamsport; his dog Babe; and his two cats Cream and Lucky.
His wife would like thank Greg’s devoted family, friends and neighbors who assisted during his time of illness; and a special thank you to Residential Hospice staff for their care and compassion.
A graveside service for family and friends to honor the life of Greg will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, May 11 in Wildwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Greg’s name to Second Chance Animal Sanctuaries, 725 Gee Road, Tioga, PA 16946.
