David S. Cochran, 87, of Williamsport, died Friday, April 19, 2019 at home surrounded by his family. Surviving is his loving wife, Josephine G. (Weaver) Cochran whom he would have celebrated 66 years of marriage with on May 9, 2019.
Born August 6, 1931 in Williamsport he was a son of the late Jesse B. and Martha O. (Sanders) Cochran.
David served his county in the US Army during the Korean War and retired from Hall’s Motor Transit as a truck driver after many years of service. He was a life member of the LeRoy O. Buck V.F.W. Post 7863 and the former V.F.W. Post 844, the Republican League and the Korean War Veterans of Lycoming County. David enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, repairing cars and being with his grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters; Martha O. Sechler and Debra A. Gee both of Williamsport; a son, Michael S. Cochran (Jeanne) of Springville, New York; six grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and a sister.
David was preceded in death by two brothers, Jesse and Harry Cochran and a sister Jean Weaver.
A funeral service to honor the life of David will be held 2 p.m. Friday, April 26 at Knight-Confer Funeral Home, 1914 Memorial Ave. Williamsport. Burial will follow in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy with full military honors accorded by the Korean War Veterans of Lycoming County. A viewing will be held from 1 p.m. until the time of service on Friday at Knight-Confer.
