Ann L. Gehrig, 80, of Williamsport, passed peacefully into God's care Feb. 18, 2019, at her home, surrounded by family. Surviving is her loving husband of 59 years, Robert W. Gehrig.
Born Sept. 14, 1938 in Williamsport, she was a daughter of the late Charles F. and Ruth R. (Frymire) Pfeiffer.
Ann was a 1956 graduate of Montoursville High School and also earned a degree from Lycoming College. She worked as a legal secretary for several years at local law firms. Her most important role in life was being a devoted wife and mother caring for the needs of her family and taking care of her home. She was a dedicated member of St. Paul-Calvary United Methodist Church and the Dorothy Long Sunday School Class. The caring and compassionate support she received from her church family meant the world to her.
Ann enjoyed gardening, flowers, reading and helping others. She and Bob enjoyed traveling and cruising, as the ocean was a favorite destination of hers to visit. Ann loved her many Cocker Spaniel dogs throughout the years, and especially adored her dog, Daisy, who brought her great comfort in her most recent days.
Surviving in addition to her husband are, a son, James C. Gehrig (Virginia) of Massachusetts; a daughter, Elizabeth A. Gottlieb (Gary) of Florida; six grandchildren; a daughter-in-law Karen M. Gehrig of California; and a longtime friend, Lindsay Campbell of Williamsport.
In addition to her parents, Ann was preceded in death by a son, Robert S. Gehrig, in 2004.
A funeral service to honor the life of Ann will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 23 at Knight-Confer Funeral Home, 1914 Memorial Ave., Williamsport. Burial will follow in Montoursville Cemetery. A viewing will be held 10 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at Knight-Confer.
