Jeffrey E. “Jeff” Halstead,48, of Linden, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at his home.
Born April 24, 1975, in Williamsport, he was a son of the late Howard C. “Skip” Halstead, Jr. and Bonnie J. (Wilcox) Halstead of Linden.
Jeff was a graduate of Williamsport Area High School, class of 1993, and carried his passion for food into his studies at Pennsylvania College of Technology where he pursued culinary arts. Jeff previously worked at Weis Markets and Masden Car Wash.
An avid music lover, Jeff's passion for bands like Def Leppard, Grateful Dead, and Pink Floyd was well-known. His extensive CD collection was a testament to his love of music, and he reveled in the experience of live concerts. Jeff's enthusiasm for Penn State Football was infectious, and he enjoyed nothing more than cheering on his team surrounded by friends and family.
Jeff's interests were as varied as they were vibrant. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed PlayStation, where he would spend hours immersed in the challenge and excitement of the games.
Surviving in addition to his mother is his daughter, MacKenzie R. Roberts; grandson, Blaine E. Roberts; three siblings Lisa M. Hamm of Frisco, Texas, Erin R. Halstead (Andrew Pepperman) of Cogan Station, and Alex H. Halstead (Ashley) of Lewisburg; his maternal grandmother, Marie Mast Wilcox of Oregon Hill; his nieces and nephews Ethan, Tristan, Kylee, Ian, Cayden, Noah, Abel, and Greyson. Jeff also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, and his two special friends, Steve Keller and Rich Twine.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Howard C. Halstead, Sr. and Naomi I. Fenstemacher; maternal grandfather Russell J. Wilcox; and an aunt Crystal K. Bowen.
A memorial service to honor the life of Jeff will be held 12 p.m. Wednesday, April 17 at Knight-Confer Funeral Home 1914 Memorial Avenue, Williamsport. Burial will follow in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy. A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until time of service at Knight-Confer Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jeff’s name to the Lycoming-Clinton County Mental Health and Intellectual Disabilities 200 East Street Williamsport, PA 17701.
