Robert Fisher Obituary

Robert W. “Bob” Fisher,78, of Cogan Station, passed into the waiting arms of Jesus, March 8, 2024, at home, with his wife and daughter by his side. He fought a courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Betty L. (Beach) Fisher.

Born July 24, 1945, in Jersey Shore, he was the son of the late Nelson and Dorothy (Paulhamus) Fisher. He attended schools in the Jersey Shore Area School District, with the first eight years in the “old one-room schools”. Bob proudly served six years in the PA Army National Guard during the Vietnam Era. He was the owner-operator of Robert W. Fisher Trucking, having leased to Hamilton Trucking Company, Blossburg, PA for many years. He retired in 2010 after ten years with Capparelle Coal Trucking Company, Bellefont, PA.

Even after retirement, Bob continued to work diligently. Always available to lend a helping hand, he was gifted in many areas of home improvement and could build or fix anything he set his mind to. During his lifetime he made many home renovations, along with constructing outbuildings and garages. He could easily stop whatever he was doing, and make time for a long, friendly chat. He also enjoyed bicycling on area bike paths with his wife. Bob and Betty enjoyed traveling and sight-seeing with many close and wonderful friends. Sometimes by car, motorcycle, plane or RV. They visited many areas throughout the country including Hawaii and Alaska, and enjoyed many NASCAR races.

Bob was an active member of Quiggleville United Methodist Church, where he was a trustee and groundskeeper. He was also a member of the Oak Hunting Club where he served as treasurer.

Also surviving are his son, Gregory Fisher, of Jersey Shore Nursing and Rehab; a daughter, Deborah Peacock (Keith) of Salladasburg; three sisters, Maxine Peacock (Lynn), Beatrice Hall (Wayne), Kay Paulhamus (Curt), and a brother-in-law, Earl Hensler. He also leaves behind to cherish his memory four grandchildren, Dustin, Darrin, and Kailey Peacock, Lauren Fisher; a great-grandson, Camden Sakiadis, and the family dog, Lizzie.

In addition to his parents, Bob was also preceded in death by a sister, Anna Mae Hensler and an infant brother, Donald.
