Paulette R. (Irwin) Bloom

Paulette R. Bloom, 74, of Houtzdale died peacefully Thursday, February 29, 2024 at her son’s home in Montgomery, PA.

Born October 18, 1949 in Philipsburg, she was a daughter of the late Edward T. and Ruth M. Snyder Irwin.

Paulette was a 1967 graduate of Moshannon Valley High School. In 1968 she married the love of her life, Francis A. Bloom. They celebrated 44 years of marriage until his passing in 2013.

Paulette was an Administrative Assistant at Penn State University and the Stott Coal Company. Strong in her faith, Paulette was a member of the former Primitive Methodist Church where she sang in the choir and participated in youth ministry programs.  Most recently, she had enjoyed fellowship and friendship at the Brisbin First Church of God.

Grammy cherished time with her family. She always looked forward to trips in the RV, going on vacation, and attending her grandchildren’s events. Paulette enjoyed quilting, sewing, cross stitching, and caring for her family pets.

She is survived by her son, Jamie Bloom (Noelle) of Montgomery; grandchildren, Morgan and Carson Bloom and two sisters, Autumn Haines (Ralph) and Nannette Anderson (Art).

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Carol Archer.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
