James Patrick Fitzsimmons, 50, of 1670 Taylor Place, died Sunday, April 25, 2010 at his home following an extended illness. Jim was a 1978 graduate of the Williamsport High School and as a Boy Scout was elected into the Order of the Arrow. He played baseball for Original Little League and Mid-City League and softball at Elm Park. Jim was a carpenter and could build almost anything. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping and all outdoor activities. Born March 19, 1960 in Williamsport, he was the son of John F. and Margaret A. Wallace Fitzsimmons. Surviving in addition to his parents, with whom he lived, are sons, Brandon Patrick Fitzsimmons of Montoursville and Dustin James Fitzsimmons of Devens, Mass.; brothers, Thomas S. Fitzsimmons of Greenville, NC and John F. Fitzsimmons II of Williamsport; grandson, Logan Joseph Fitzsimmons and two nieces. Jim was predeceased by a brother, Kenneth B. Fitzsimmons. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 29, 2010, at Knight-Confer's, 1914 Memorial Avenue, with the Rev. Kraig L. Faust officiating. Visitation from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions may be made to the Building Fund of St. John's-Newberry United Methodist Church, 2101 Newberry Street, Williamsport, PA 17701.
