Valaria V. "Val" Long, 91, of Williamsport, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2017, at the Williamsport Home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Orville F. Long on May 2, 2010.
Born March 29, 1927, in Williamsport, she was a daughter of the late Bert and Frances (Boroch) Federowicz.
Val was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Parish. She was a homemaker and crafter. She loved and cherished making memories with her grandchildren.
Surviving are her two sons, Franklin P. Long, of New Castle and Michael J. Long (Cheryl), of Williamsport; her daughter, Catherine L. Spotts (Steve), of Williamsport; five grandchildren, Frank Workman, Cassie Spotts, and Josh, Cain, and Harlee Long; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Florence Engel (Richard), of Bastress; her late daughter, Annette’s significant other, Harry Derr; several nieces and nephews, and all her extended family.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sons, Harold L. Long and Thomas E. Long; two daughters, Theresa Workman and Annette M. Long; three brothers, Leonard, Stanley, and Florian Federowicz; and two sisters, Elizabeth White and Lucille Bailey.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 24, at St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 702 W. Fourth St., Williamsport, with the Rev. Brian F. VanFossen officiating. Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9 until 9:45 a.m. in the church portico.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Valaria’s name to St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 711 W. Edwin St., Williamsport, PA 17701.
