Thomas Edward Turner, Sr.

Thomas Edward Turner Sr., 72, of Williamsport, died Thursday, June 29, 2017, at UPMC Williamsport Hospital.

Born May 30, 1945 in Oil City, he was a son of Sarah Turner. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jean Turner and a brother, Tim Spence.

Tom was an Air Force veteran of Vietnam. He worked for 38 years at Con-Rail and then Norfolk Southern Railroad. He was a member of VFW No. 7863 DuBoistown. He was an avid Phillies Fan, enjoyed fishing and crossword puzzles, but most of all loved being with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Surviving are three children, Thomas E. Turner, Betty L. Turner and Erica Lynn Turner, all of Williamsport; four grandchildren, Zoe, Emilie, Izak and Austin; and one great-grandson, Gabe; and siblings, Alton Harvey, Mary Reimer, John Harvey, Ruth Marshall, Charles Spence, Ray Hamilton and Linda Leclair.

A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, July 6 at Knight-Confer Funeral Home, 1914 Memorial Ave., Williamsport.

There will be a time of celebration for Tom at the VFW No. 7863 DuBoistown from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, July 7.
