Raymond E. Myers, 89, of Williamsport, was called to his heavenly home on Sunday, March 4, 2018, at the Williamsport Home surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Lillian M. (Ludwig) Myers, on August 15, 2017.
Born June 16, 1928, in Jersey Shore, he was a son of the late James H. and Verna M. (Fidler) Myers.
Raymond attended the former Williamsport Area Community College for estimate blueprint reading. He was a self-employed painting contractor and owner of R. E. Myers Painting for almost 50 years. A few of his accomplishments included St. Luke Lutheran Church and Steeple, the Park Home, local nursing homes, hospitals, and banks.
Raymond was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church. He enjoyed antique cars, attending car shows, going for drives, and family vacations to Florida. He was also a member of the Plymouth Car Club. Most of all Raymond loved and cherished spending time with his family during holidays, picnics, and family dinners.
Surviving is a son, Joseph E. Myers (Carolyn), of Linden; a daughter, Linda R. DeLong (David), of Cogan Station; five grandchildren, Lynn Robinson, Amy Andrews (Ian), Amanda DeLong, Stephanie Yates (Charles), Melissa Stryker (David), and Ericka VanPelt (Allen); and eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Calvin Myers (Janet), of Williamsport; and a sister, Coralie Rolley, of Williamsport.
A funeral service to celebrate the life of Raymond will be held 11 a.m. Friday, March 9 at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 1400 Market St., Williamsport, with the Rev. A Elisabeth Aurand officiating. Burial will follow in Jersey Shore Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at St. Luke Lutheran Church.
