Norma L. (Keefer) Griess

     Norma L. Griess, 87, of South Williamsport, passed away, Friday Jan. 26, 2018, at Muncy Valley Hospital Skilled Nursing Unit. Surviving is her husband of 68 years, William H. Griess. 

     Born July 27, 1930, in Williamsport, she was a daughter of the late Raymond and Bernadine Keefer. 

     Norma was a 1948 graduate of Williamsport High School and was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church. Norma was an excellent cook and baker. She loved attending her grandchildren’s sporting events, concerts, recitals, and talent shows. Most of all she cherished being a wife, mother, and grandmother.

     In addition to her husband, surviving are her two children, Sandra L. Rothermel (Chuck), of Northumberland and Gary A. Griess, of Williamsport; six grandchildren, Kendra, Matthew, Amanda, Ashley, Alexis, and Dallas; and four great-grandchildren.

     In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, William Keefer. 

     A memorial service to honor the life of Norma will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 31 at Knight-Confer Funeral Home, 1914 Memorial Ave., Williamsport, with the Rev. Joshua L. Reinsburrow officiating. Burial will follow in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until time of service at Knight-Confer Funeral Home.

     In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Norma’s name to Muncy Valley Hospital Skilled Nursing Unit, 215 E. Water St., Muncy, PA 17756.
