Mildred F. (Williams) Brooks

Mildred F. Brooks, 85, of Williamsport, died peacefully Monday, February 19, 2018 at The Gatehouse of Divine Providence Hospital.

Born July 24, 1932 she was the daughter of the late James A. and Lucy (Thompson) Williams, and also was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.

She had worked at Lycoming Shoes and Cobblers and was a homemaker. Mildred had attended First Southern Baptist Church and enjoyed going to auctions. She and her husband Bill spent many summers at Nittany Mountain Campground, with her family whom she dearly loved and cared for.

Surviving is her husband of 64 years William H. Brooks whom she married July 11, 1953, a son Michael W. Brooks of Muncy, two daughters JoAnn R. Whyne of Catawissa (John M., Jr.) of Catawissa, and Tabitha L. Kvalkauskas of Pittston, five grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and one great great granddaughter.

A funeral service to honor the life of Mildred will be held 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 22 at Knight-Confer Funeral Home 1914 Memorial Ave. Williamsport. Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Knight-Confer Funeral Home and from 1 p.m. until service time Thursday.
