John H. Gebhart, Jr.

     John H. Gebhart Jr., 90, of Cogan Station, passed away Monday, March 19, 2018, at UPMC-Susquehanna, Williamsport.

     Born April 22, 1927, in Williamsport, he was a son of the late John H. and Hilda (Nelson) Gebhart Jr.

     John was a graduate of South Williamsport High School and retired from the former AVCO now Textron Lycoming. 

     He was an avid bowler, hunter, and fisherman. In his earlier years John enjoyed riding motorcycles and more recently he enjoyed playing bingo. He was always willing to help others and was a great handyman.

     Surviving are his wife of 29 years, Genvea J. "June" (Eisenhower) Gebhart; two sons, John Gebhart III and David Gebhart; three step-children, Lennie, Lorretta and William; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

     In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Elizabeth Ulrich; a step-daughter, Lucinda "Cindy" Pepperman; and a sister, Hilda Gebhart.

     A graveside service will be held privately at the convenience of the family in Wildwood Cemetery.
