Jeanne D. (Derr) Stone

     Jeanne D. Stone, 94, of Williamsport, passed away peacefully Monday, Nov. 13, 2017, at the Williamsport Home. She was preceded in death by her husband, John L. Stone.

     Born May 9, 1923, in Williamsport, she was the daughter of the late Phillip and Jennie (Bachman) Derr. 

     Jeanne retired in 2003 from Fink’s Paint Store as a decorator for 34 years.

     In her younger years, Jeanne was very athletic and enjoyed tennis. She loved spending time at her river lot along the Susquehanna River and enjoyed her flowers.

     Surviving are three sons, John L. Stone Jr. (Carol), of Cogan Station, Jeffry L. Stone (Billie), of Florida, and James W. Stone, (Staci) of Williamsport; a daughter, Jocelyn E. Stone, of Maryland; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

     In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Charles W. Derr.

     A memorial service to honor the life of Jeanne will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, November 29, at Knight-Confer Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until time of service at Knight-Confer Funeral Home.

     In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Jeanne’s name to the Williamsport Home, 1900 Ravine Road, Williamsport, PA 17701.
