James A. Meuse, Sr.September 27, 1934 ~ December 19, 2017 (age 83)
James A. "Jim" Meuse Sr., 83, of Trout Run, died Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2017, at his home. Surviving is his wife of 60 years, Yvonne M. (Long) Meuse.
Born Sept. 27, 1934, in Ralston, he was a son of the late Thomas and Ella (Moser) Meuse.
Jim served in the U.S. Army during the Cuban Crisis. He retired in 2001 from Glenn O. Hawbaker Company as a Heavy Equipment Operator.
Jim was a member of Assumption Church in Cascade and life time member of Red Run Rod & Gun Club. He was a former president of Ralston Volunteer Fire Company, affiliated with McIntyre Police Department, and was a former Boy Scout Troop leader. He enjoyed hunting and cherished spending time with his family.
Surviving in addition to his wife are three sons, James A. Meuse Jr., of Ralston, Roger and Rodney Meuse, both of Williamsport; five daughters, Kimberly Meuse, of Montoursville, Yvonne Kurtz, of Williamsport, Kortney Howard, of Montoursville, Roxanna Bigalow, of Muncy, and Ruta Ault, of Trout Run; 16 grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren, with two great-granddaughters on the way; 18 great-great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild on the way; one brother; five sisters; and a special dog, Rosa the Newf.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela R. Meuse; five brothers; and one sister.
A memorial service to honor the life of Jim will be held 6 p.m. Friday, December 29, at Knight-Confer Funeral Home, 1914 Memorial Ave., Williamsport. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until time of service at Knight-Confer Funeral Home.
