James R. "Jim" Levering

     James R. "Jim" Levering, 59, of Williamsport, passed away unexpectedly with his loving wife of 27 years, Barbara E. (Hibbler) Levering, by his side.

     Born Sept. 27, 1957, in Williamsport, he was a son of the late Thomas C. Levering and Patti A. (Russell) Levering, of Williamsport.

     Jim was a graduate of Williamsport High School. He was currently employed at Wire Rope Inc. as a supervisor for 27 years.

     He was a member of Christ Episcopal Church. Jim was an avid Ohio State Buckeye’s fan and a diehard New York Yankee’s fan. He enjoyed playing softball and other sports during his younger years and loved being outdoors and fishing.

     Surviving in addition to his wife and mother are a son, James R. Levering Jr. (Amanda); a daughter, Brittany J. Gohl; two grandsons, Zairek J. and Jahkai L. Gohl; a brother, Thomas Levering II (Linda), all of Williamsport; seven nephews; and a brother-in-law, Dennis Klabik, of Tenn.

     In addition to his father he was preceded in death by a daughter, Monica Rae Shearer; and a sister, Laralee Klabik.

     A memorial service to honor the life of Jim will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, July 29, at Christ Episcopal Church, 426 Mulberry St., Williamsport. A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of service at Christ Episcopal Church.

     In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Jim’s name to Christ Episcopal Church, 426 Mulberry St., Williamsport, PA 17701.
