Harry F. "Mac" McClain, 89, of Cogan Station, passed away, Saturday, May 20, 2017.
Born April 15, 1928, in Sagamore, he was a son of the late George and Eliza (Seese) McClain. On Dec. 2, 1948, he married the former Margaret E. Gephart.
Mac was a member of Balls Mills United Methodist Church and retired from Textron-Lycoming. A U.S. Navy Veteran, he served on the USS K.D. Bailey from 1946-49. He was past commander of the LeRoy O. Buck VFW No. 7863 DuBoistown. He was a life member of the Lycoming County Consolidated Sportsmen and a member of the National Rifle Association. Mac enjoyed hunting and fishing and fondly remembers winning the baseball DesLant Championship in 1948.
Surviving in addition to his wife of 68 years are four children, Susan (William) Corson, Scott McClain and Virginia (Timothy) Boyles, all of Cogan Station, and Marie Fisher, of Williamsport; 17 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son Stephen McClain; four brothers; and five sisters.
Visitation will be held from 9-10:45 a.m. Wednesday, May 24 at Balls Mills U.M.C., 5941 Bloomingrove Road, Cogan Station, with a funeral service to honor Mac at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Green Lawn Memorial Park, Montgomery, with military honors accorded by the Korean War Veterans of Lycoming County.
