Harold D. "Dale" Landis, 85, formerly of Williamsport, died Monday, Feb. 19, 2018, at his home in Kings Mountain, North Carolina. Surviving is his wife of 39 years, Mary L. (Wright) Landis.
Born Nov. 26, 1932, in Williamsport, he was a son of the late Charles and Jennie (Stewart) Landis.
Dale was a graduate of Williamsport High School. Following graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force for 21 years, during which he served in both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Dale later retired in 1998 from Labels by Pulizzi after 21 years.
He was past president and life member of VFW Post 7863 and a member of the American Legion Post 251. Dale enjoyed golfing and hunting.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Judith L. Landis, of North Carolina and Patricia I. Landis, of Michigan; a step-son, Evert H. Kepner Jr., of North Carolina; eight grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Steven D. Landis; a daughter, Kimberly G. Landis; three brothers, Edgar, Stuart, and Robert Landis; and two sisters, Beatrice Frahn and Zina Naughton.
A funeral service to honor the life of Dale will be held 1:30 p.m. Monday, February 26 at Knight-Confer Funeral Home, 1914 Memorial Ave., Williamsport. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery, Liberty Township. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until time of service at Knight-Confer Funeral Home.
