George V. Deuel

     George V. Deuel, 92, of Williamsport, passed away peacefully Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at home with his wife of 70 years, Wanda V. (Kriger) Deuel by his side.

     Born February 14, 1925, in Fairmont Township, he was a son of the late George S. and Daisy E. (Harrington) Deuel.

     George was a U.S. Navy Veteran and served during World War II. He retired in 1987 from Sears as an appliance serviceman after many years.

     He was a member of Fairlawn Community Church and the NRA. He enjoyed spending time outside and hunting. George and Wanda loved to travel and even did a cross country trip in there RV to Alaska.

     Surviving in addition to his wife are three sons, George V. Deuel, of Nesbit, James D. Deuel (Tammy), of Trout Run, and Todd J. Deuel (Marian), of Bodines, a daughter, Barbara E. Martinez (Richard), of Houston, TX, 10 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.

     In addition to his parent he was preceded in death by a brother Arthur Deuel and four sisters, Delores Hontz, Edna Latka, Annetta Mason, and Isabell Eron.

     A graveside service to honor the life of George will be held 1:30 p.m. Monday, October 23 in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy with Pastor Steve Cutter officiating.

     In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in George’s name to Susquehanna Health Foundation c/o Susquehanna Home Care & Hospice, 1001 Grampian Blvd., Williamsport, PA 17701.

     The family of George would like to thank Susquehanna Hospice, Veteran’s Affairs, and the Office of the Aging for their love, care, and support in caring for George.
