Frank W. Free

Frank W. Free, 80, of 1841 Poco Lane, died Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, at The Gatehouse Hospice.

Frank and his wife, the former Evelyn M. McMichael, would have observed their 31st anniversary on April 24.

Frank retired from Textron Lycoming after over 40 years of service, was a 1950 graduate of Williamsport High School and a Navy veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of St. Paul-Calvary United Methodist Church, Past Master of Ivy Lodge #397 Free and Accepted Masons, served as Tyler of Lodge #106, a member and former High Priest of Lycoming Royal Arch Chapter 222, and was a member of Adoniram Council 26 and the Williamsport Conclave of the Knights of the Red Cross of Constantine. He was a blood donor for many years and a volunteer for the Lycoming County United Way.

Born June 6, 1932 in Williamsport, he was the son of Paul H. and Vonda M. Kopp Free.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Diane L. (Tim) Stine; sister-in-law, Margaret Free; grandchildren, Tanya (Anthony) Frey and Brian (Kaitlyn) Twigg and great-grandchildren, Sean and Emily Frey and Amelia and Brielle Twigg all of Montoursville; nephew, Mark (Kathy) Free of Minn.; nieces, Paula (Dell) Edler of English Center and Linda (Rich) Lomison of Trout Run and several cousins.

Frank was predeceased by his brother, Paul H. Free Jr.

Memorial services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Knight-Confer’s, 1914 Memorial Ave., with the Rev. Robin L. Baer officiating. Interment will be in Twin Hills Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday with a Masonic service at 8:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the church, 1427 Memorial Ave., The Gatehouse Hospice, 1100 Grampian Blvd., or a Masonic charity of the donors’ choice.
