Dean Winters, 82, of Trout Run, died Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at his home.

Born September 27, 1930 in Ann Arbor, Michigan, he was a son of the late Harry and Helen (Treaster) Barker.  He was preceded in death by brothers, Charles and Harry and sisters, Sara, Betty and Ada.

Dean married Sandra L. Ohnmeiss and would have celebrated 23 years together on June 24th. He was a veteran of the Air Force and Army.  He retired in 1991 from Avco after many years of employment.  Dean attended Christian Church at Cogan Station and enjoyed playing games, especially cards and croquet with his children and grandchildren, working in his woodshop, camping, fishing, hunting, and riding motorcycles.

Surviving in addition to his wife are son Dean A. Winters (Theresa) of Jersey Shore; four daughters, Tina Thompson (Steve) of Jersey Shore, Cathy Carson (Rod) of Martinsburg, Lori Rinehart (Charles) of Linden and Deb Carson of McElhattan; three step-sons, William H. Johnson of Williamsport, Jeffrey Johnson (Marlene) of Mifflinburg and Edmund Johnson of Trout Run; three step-daughters, Kimberly Maggs (Kevin) of Jersey Shore, Jennifer Buchan (David) of State College and Gloria Johnson of Williamsport; sister Helen Brown; 21 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at Knight-Confer Funeral Home, 1914 Memorial Ave., Williamsport.  Burial will be at Christian Church at Cogan Station Cemetery.  Visitation will be held 9:30–11 a.m. Saturday at Knight-Confer Funeral Home.
