Christine H. Himes

Christine H. Himes, 84, formerly of Oak Ridge Place, died Thursday, January 5, 2012 at the Williamsport Home where she had been a resident the past 4 ½ years. Christine's husband, Kenneth E. Himes, died April 29, 1998. Christine was a 71 year member of St. John's-Newberry United Methodist Church and a 50 year member of its choir. Christine was a bookkeeper of Merrill Lynch retiring in 1981 after 35 years of service. Born October 11, 1927 in Williamsport, she was the daughter of Robert C. and Emma Sautter Holtzapple Sr. Surviving is a step granddaughter, Susan Himes in Mass. several nieces, nephews and cousins. Christine was predeceased by a brother, Robert C. Holtzapple, a stepson, K. Alan Himes and a step granddaughter, Christine Daly. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, January 13, 2012, at Wildwood Cemetery with the Rev. Kraig L. Faust officiating. No Visitation. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions may be made to St. John's-Newberry United Methodist Church, 2101 Newberry Street, Williamspoort, PA 17701.
